About this product

The MOC3020 is an optocoupler that pairs a gallium-arsenide infrared LED with an optically coupled silicon triac driver output, used to trigger triacs in mains circuits. It provides 7500 V peak isolation and a 400 V output rating for 220 VAC designs. Typical uses include solenoid and valve control, lamp dimmers, motor control and interfacing microcontrollers to 115/240 VAC loads.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of MOC3020 Phototriac Driver Optocoupler (6-pin DIP) in Egypt?

MOC3020 Phototriac Driver Optocoupler (6-pin DIP) currently costs between 10 and 17 EGP across 3 offers in Egypt.

Where can I buy MOC3020 Phototriac Driver Optocoupler (6-pin DIP) in Egypt?

MOC3020 Phototriac Driver Optocoupler (6-pin DIP) is available from Makers Electronics, Microohm, and Circuits Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.

Can the MOC3020 switch a mains load on its own?

No. It only triggers an external triac, which switches the mains load. Snubber components are commonly added across the triac for inductive loads. Mains work must be isolated and enclosed properly.

How do I drive the input LED of the MOC3020?

Drive the internal LED from a microcontroller pin through a series resistor, sized for the trigger current in the datasheet. Keep the low-voltage control side electrically isolated from the mains side.
