About this product
A high-speed CAN transceiver module built around the MCP2551 chip, which converts the logic-level TX and RX signals of a microcontroller to the differential CAN bus. It supports up to 1 Mbps, meets the ISO-11898 physical layer requirements, and suits 12 V and 24 V systems such as vehicle and industrial CAN networks.

Frequently asked questions
Does this module need a CAN controller?
Yes. The MCP2551 is a transceiver, so the microcontroller needs a CAN controller, either built in or external such as the MCP2515 connected over SPI.
How do I connect it to the bus?
Connect the bus lines to CANH and CANL, and fit 120 ohm termination resistors at both ends of the bus.
