Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MCP2551 High-Speed CAN Transceiver DIP-8 in Egypt?
MCP2551 High-Speed CAN Transceiver DIP-8 currently costs 460 EGP in Egypt.
Where can I buy MCP2551 High-Speed CAN Transceiver DIP-8 in Egypt?
MCP2551 High-Speed CAN Transceiver DIP-8 is available from Future Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
Do I need a CAN controller as well as the MCP2551?
Yes. The MCP2551 is only a transceiver. It needs a CAN controller, either built into a microcontroller or external, such as the MCP2515 connected over SPI.
How is the MCP2551 wired on a CAN bus?
Connect TXD and RXD to the controller's CAN TX and RX pins, connect CANH and CANL to the bus lines, and supply 5 V with a common ground. Place 120 Ω termination resistors at each end of the bus, and tie the Rs pin to ground for maximum speed.
