About this product
The MAX485CPA+ is a low-power half-duplex RS-485 transceiver from Maxim Integrated in a DIP-8 package. It converts logic signals from a microcontroller into differential RS-485 signals on the A and B lines, and back. It is used for noise-tolerant serial communication over longer cable runs and multi-device buses.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MAX485CPA+ RS-485 Low-Power Transceiver DIP-8 in Egypt?
MAX485CPA+ RS-485 Low-Power Transceiver DIP-8 currently costs 18 EGP in Egypt.
Where can I buy MAX485CPA+ RS-485 Low-Power Transceiver DIP-8 in Egypt?
MAX485CPA+ RS-485 Low-Power Transceiver DIP-8 is available from Makers Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
How do I connect MAX485 to a microcontroller?
Connect RO to the MCU RX pin and DI to the MCU TX pin. Tie DE and RE together and drive them from a GPIO pin: high enables the driver (transmit), low enables the receiver. Connect A and B to the RS-485 bus, with GND shared between devices.
Does the MAX485 need termination resistors?
For longer cables, a 120 Ω termination resistor at each end of the bus is common practice to reduce reflections. The chip itself is powered from 4.75 V to 5.25 V, so it is not suited to a direct 3.3 V supply.
