About this product
The MAX485 is a low-power, half-duplex RS-485 transceiver that converts UART logic signals into differential RS-485 signals for longer-distance, noise-tolerant communication. It operates from a 5 V supply and is widely used with Arduino, ESP32 and other microcontrollers in Modbus and sensor networks. Transmit and receive direction is set by the DE and RE pins.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MAX485 RS-485 Transceiver, Low-Power, Slew-Rate Limited in Egypt?
MAX485 RS-485 Transceiver, Low-Power, Slew-Rate Limited currently costs 25 EGP in Egypt.
Where can I buy MAX485 RS-485 Transceiver, Low-Power, Slew-Rate Limited in Egypt?
MAX485 RS-485 Transceiver, Low-Power, Slew-Rate Limited is available from RAM Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
How do I connect MAX485 to an Arduino?
Connect RO to the Arduino RX pin, DI to TX, and tie DE and RE together to a digital pin that selects direction (HIGH to transmit, LOW to receive). Connect VCC to 5 V, GND to GND, and A/B to the RS-485 bus. Add 120 Ω termination at the two ends of a long bus.
Can MAX485 be connected directly to an ESP32?
Not directly. The MAX485 runs from 5 V, so its receiver output can swing close to 5 V, which is above the 3.3 V limit of ESP32 pins. Use a level shifter or a voltage divider on the RO line.
