Frequently asked questions
Does the output side need its own supply?
Yes. The output stage needs an isolated supply within the recommended operating range in the datasheet for the gate driver to switch correctly.
Can a microcontroller drive it directly?
The input LED is driven from the controller through a series resistor. The output provides gate drive current to the power device, so the output side must still have its own supply.
