Printed circuit board for building a magnetic rotary encoder based on the AS5600 12-bit angle sensor. The chip reads the angle of a diametrically magnetized magnet placed above it, which makes the module useful for knob position, motor shaft feedback and rotary measurement in robotics and hobby projects.

Frequently asked questions
Which magnet do I need?
The AS5600 needs a diametrically magnetized (two-pole) disc magnet, commonly 6 mm in diameter, centred above the chip on the rotating shaft. Use the air gap given in the AS5600 datasheet.
How do I connect it to a microcontroller?
Connect power, ground, SDA and SCL to your board. The AS5600 I2C address is 0x36, so make sure no other device on the bus uses the same address. Match the logic level of the module to your controller.
