Frequently asked questions
Do I need an external antenna?
The board has an SMA connector for an external GPS antenna, and the listing specifies an external antenna type. Connecting a suitable antenna is the recommended way to get good reception, especially indoors.
How do I connect it to an Arduino or ESP32?
The module communicates over a serial UART link using NMEA or UBX messages. Connect the module TX pin to the microcontroller RX pin, the module RX to the microcontroller TX, and share a common ground. The NEO-M8N default baud rate is 9600.
