About this product
The Sharp GP2Y1014AU0F is an optical dust sensor that uses an infrared LED and a phototransistor arranged diagonally to detect light reflected by airborne particles. It responds especially well to fine particles such as cigarette smoke and is commonly used in air purifier projects. Its analog output voltage is proportional to dust density.

Frequently asked questions
How do I read this sensor with an Arduino?
The output is analog, so connect Vo to an analog input such as A0. The IR LED must be pulsed through its LED pin following the timing in the datasheet, otherwise the readings will not be valid.
What supply voltage can I use?
The listing states the sensor can be powered up to 7 VDC, with a typical current draw of 11 mA and a maximum of 20 mA.
