About this product

The MQ-5 is a metal-oxide gas sensor with an SnO2 sensing element whose conductivity rises with combustible gas concentration. It responds to natural gas, methane, propane, butane and LPG, and provides both analog and digital outputs. It is used in gas-leak detection projects, but it needs a warm-up period and is not a certified safety device.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of MQ-5 Natural Gas Sensor, Analog and Digital Output in Egypt?

MQ-5 Natural Gas Sensor, Analog and Digital Output currently costs between 60 and 100 EGP across 8 offers in Egypt.

Where can I buy MQ-5 Natural Gas Sensor, Analog and Digital Output in Egypt?

MQ-5 Natural Gas Sensor, Analog and Digital Output is available from Makers Electronics, Microohm, Ekostra, Most Electronics, RAM Electronics, Circuits Electronics, Future Electronics, and UGE. Compare the offers above to find the best price.

How do I wire it to an Arduino?

Connect VCC to 5 V and GND to GND, then connect the analog output to an analog input such as A0. The digital output can drive a simple on/off alert using the module's adjustable threshold.

Why are the first readings unstable?

The sensing element needs a warm-up period before readings settle. Raw readings reflect relative gas concentration and need calibration for absolute values.
