Connect the two AC input pins, marked with the ~ symbol, to the transformer secondary or AC source. Take the DC output from the pins marked + and -.
Is a heatsink needed?
For light loads well below the 1 A rating it is usually not required. For currents near the rating, check the thermal conditions of your design and add a heatsink or improve airflow if needed.
