About this product
The ENC28J60 is a stand-alone IEEE 802.3 Ethernet controller with an integrated MAC and 10BASE-T PHY. It includes 8 KB of transmit/receive buffer SRAM and is accessed by a host microcontroller over SPI. It lets AVR, PIC or Arduino-based projects add wired Ethernet connectivity, for example in sensor gateways and network-connected controllers.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect it directly to a 5 V Arduino?
The chip operates at 3.3 V. Power it from a regulated 3.3 V supply and check the logic-level specifications of your module before connecting SPI and control pins to 5 V signals. A level shifter is the safe option.
Which library is used with Arduino?
ENC28J60 modules are commonly used with SPI-based libraries such as EtherCard or UIPEthernet. Check the library's documentation for the exact pin mapping and buffer configuration.
