About this product
The MAX232 is a dual RS-232 driver/receiver IC that converts the ±12 V RS-232 signal levels of a PC serial port into standard 0 to 5 V TTL/CMOS logic levels, and back. It lets microcontrollers such as Arduino or PIC communicate with a PC COM port or other RS-232 devices. It requires four external capacitors for its internal charge pump.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of MAX232 RS232 to TTL Level Converter IC DIP-16 in Egypt?
MAX232 RS232 to TTL Level Converter IC DIP-16 currently costs between 28.5 and 30 EGP across 2 offers in Egypt.
Where can I buy MAX232 RS232 to TTL Level Converter IC DIP-16 in Egypt?
MAX232 RS232 to TTL Level Converter IC DIP-16 is available from UGE and Future Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.
Does MAX232 need external capacitors?
Yes. It needs four external capacitors for its charge pump, typically 1 µF each, connected between pins C1+/C1-, C2+/C2- and the V+ and V- pins as shown in the datasheet.
Can MAX232 connect directly to an ESP32?
Not safely. MAX232 TTL outputs swing up to about 5 V, while ESP32 GPIOs are 3.3 V and not 5 V tolerant. Use a level shifter on the receive line. Arduino Uno and other 5 V boards can connect directly.
