About this product
A breakout module built around the MAX485 differential transceiver. It converts TTL serial signals from a microcontroller to the RS-485 bus and back, for long-distance, multi-node communication such as industrial sensors and Modbus networks. The board has a 2-pin 5.08 mm screw terminal for the A/B bus lines and brings out the chip's control pins.

How do I connect it to an Arduino?
Connect VCC to 5V and GND to GND, RO to the RX pin, and DI to the TX pin. Tie DE and /RE together and drive them from a digital pin: HIGH to transmit, LOW to receive. Check the board labels, since some modules already tie these pins.
Can several devices share the same RS-485 bus?
Yes. Connect all A lines together and all B lines together across the devices, which can support up to 32 unit loads. For long cables, place a termination resistor of about 120 ohm across A and B at each end of the bus.
