About this product
A magnetic sensor module built around an encapsulated CT10 dry reed switch, a single-pole single-throw normally open switch with ruthenium contacts. It closes when a permanent magnet or electromagnet is brought near it, so it can act as a proximity or position sensor. It is used in pulse counting, security alarms and proximity detection.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect it to a microcontroller?
Connect one terminal to GND and the other to a digital input with the internal pull-up enabled. The input reads LOW when a magnet closes the switch. If your module board has labelled pins, follow those labels.
Does the sensor need a power supply?
The reed switch itself is passive and works as a simple switch, so it does not need power. The pull-up or any indicator on the module may require a supply, depending on the board design shown by its pin labels.
