About this product
A current sensor breakout built around the Allegro ACS712 Hall-effect sensor chip, which measures up to 5 A of AC or DC current. It outputs an analog voltage that changes linearly with the sensed current, and that voltage can be read by an ADC on a microcontroller. It is used to monitor current and power consumption in projects and small systems.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire it into a circuit?
Place the module in series with the load, passing the current through the IP+ and IP- terminals. Connect VCC to 5 V, GND to ground, and OUT to an ADC pin. Check the labels printed on your board.
Can it measure AC current as well as DC?
Yes, the module measures both AC and DC current up to 5 A.
