About this product
YT06-OP-400B-1M is an incremental optical rotary encoder that outputs two-phase A/B pulses from a slotted disc and optocoupler, giving 400 pulses per revolution. Its NPN outputs and 1-meter cable suit measuring shaft speed, position and rotation direction in motor control and automation projects.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect this encoder to a microcontroller?
Connect the power wires to a 7 to 24 V DC supply and GND to ground, then connect the A and B outputs to two digital inputs, ideally interrupt-capable. NPN outputs usually need a pull-up resistor to the logic supply.
How do I determine rotation direction?
The two outputs are 90 degrees out of phase. Comparing which channel leads the other during a transition shows the direction of rotation, and counting pulses gives the position.
