About this product

An incremental rotary encoder module that outputs two square-wave signals, SIA and SIB, to determine rotation direction and count pulses. Unlike a potentiometer, it has no limit on counts, so it can count continuously. A reset button sets the counter back to zero. It is used for knobs, speed and position feedback, and menu navigation.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of Rotary Encoder Module (Incremental, SIA/SIB) with Reset Button in Egypt?

Rotary Encoder Module (Incremental, SIA/SIB) with Reset Button currently costs between 55 and 85 EGP across 2 offers in Egypt.

Where can I buy Rotary Encoder Module (Incremental, SIA/SIB) with Reset Button in Egypt?

Rotary Encoder Module (Incremental, SIA/SIB) with Reset Button is available from Most Electronics and Circuits Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.

How do I wire it to an Arduino or ESP32?

Connect VCC to 3 V to 5 V, GND to GND, and SIA and SIB to two digital inputs. Compare the phase order of SIA and SIB to determine direction, and count the edges to measure position. Use interrupt-capable pins for reliable counting at higher speeds. For 3.3 V logic boards such as ESP32, supply the module from 3.3 V so the signal levels match.

Is this an absolute or incremental encoder?

It is an incremental encoder, so it reports relative movement and does not remember its position after power is lost. The counter must be reset or re-homed when the system starts.
