Frequently asked questions
How do I set the output voltage?
Use a resistor divider on the feedback pin. The output is approximately 1.25 V multiplied by (1 + R_top / R_bottom), where the feedback reference is 1.25 V. Measure the output with a multimeter and adjust the trim before connecting your load.
What input voltage should I use, and does it need a heatsink?
The input must be higher than the output you want and stay within 4.5 V to 40 V (absolute maximum 42 V). At high output current the device needs a heatsink, and the 12 A rating assumes adequate heatsinking.
