Frequently asked questions
Can I connect this buzzer directly to an Arduino pin?
No. The buzzer needs 12 V, which an Arduino pin cannot supply. Switch the 12 V supply with an NPN transistor or logic-level MOSFET driven from the Arduino pin, and check the current draw against the transistor rating.
Does the buzzer have a polarity?
Some buzzers are polarised and marked with + and -. If yours is marked, connect the positive lead to 12 V and the negative lead to the switching element. If it is not marked, confirm the wiring with the manufacturer information.
