Frequently asked questions
Does this chip connect directly to the CAN bus?
No. The SJA1000T is a CAN controller, so it needs an external CAN transceiver between its TX and RX pins and the CAN bus wires.
What does the chip need from the host microcontroller?
It needs a host microcontroller or processor to configure it and move data through its bus interface, along with an external clock source such as a crystal. Follow the datasheet for the wiring and clock details.
