Frequently asked questions
How do I connect it to an Arduino?
Connect VCC and GND to a matching 3.3 V or 5 V supply and ground. Cross the UART lines as is typical for these modules: module RXD to the controller's TX pin and module TXD to its RX pin. Connect A and B to the RS485 bus, A to A and B to B.
How far can it communicate?
The listing states transmission up to 1 km, but recommends 800 m with the test cable used. Beyond 800 m, add repeaters, and use twisted-pair cable for better noise immunity.
