About this product
The MQ-5 is a metal-oxide gas sensor that detects combustible gases such as LPG, butane, propane, methane and hydrogen, and it also responds to smoke. It is Arduino-compatible and is commonly used in gas leak alarms and air-quality projects. It outputs an analog signal, and the module also provides a digital threshold output.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire it to an Arduino?
Connect VCC to 5V, GND to GND, and AO to an analog input such as A0. DO is optional and gives a digital signal when the gas level passes the threshold set by the module's potentiometer.
Why are the readings unstable when I first power it on?
Metal-oxide gas sensors need a warm-up period for the heater and sensing layer to stabilize. Allow time before taking readings, and note that the readings are approximate and not calibrated measurements.
