About this product

An LM317-based adjustable voltage regulator module that accepts 4 to 40 V DC and provides an adjustable output from 1.2 to 37 V, up to 1.5 A with a heatsink. It is used to supply a stable, adjustable voltage to microcontroller, sensor and prototype circuits. Because the LM317 is a linear regulator, it dissipates excess input voltage as heat.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of LM317 Adjustable Voltage Regulator Module 1.2–37V, 1.5A in Egypt?

LM317 Adjustable Voltage Regulator Module 1.2–37V, 1.5A currently costs 30 EGP in Egypt.

Where can I buy LM317 Adjustable Voltage Regulator Module 1.2–37V, 1.5A in Egypt?

LM317 Adjustable Voltage Regulator Module 1.2–37V, 1.5A is available from RAM Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.

Why does the module get hot?

The LM317 is a linear regulator, so the power it wastes equals (Vin - Vout) x Iout. For example, 12 V in to 5 V out at 1 A wastes about 7 W as heat. Use a heatsink at higher currents or a smaller input-output difference.

How do I set the output voltage and what input margin do I need?

Turn the on-board potentiometer while measuring the output with a multimeter. The LM317 needs about 2 to 3 V of headroom above the output, so the input must stay at least that much higher than the voltage you want.
