LM2596S-ADJ is the adjustable version of the LM2596 step-down switching regulator, in a TO-263 surface-mount package. The output voltage is set with an external resistor divider, and the device delivers up to 3 A at about 150 kHz switching. Useful for powering projects that need a custom output voltage from a higher DC input.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set the output voltage?
Use Vout = 1.23 V x (1 + R2/R1), where R2 is connected between the output and the feedback pin, and R1 between the feedback pin and ground. Choose resistor values according to the datasheet recommendations.
Does it need the same external parts as the fixed 5 V version?
Yes. The adjustable version needs the same external support components (input capacitor, output inductor, catch diode and output capacitor) plus the feedback resistor divider.
