How do I wire it to an Arduino or ESP32?
Connect VCC to 5 V, GND to GND, SDA to the SDA pin and SCL to the SCL pin. On an Arduino Uno these are A4 (SDA) and A5 (SCL). On most ESP32 boards the default I2C pins are GPIO21 (SDA) and GPIO22 (SCL).
The screen is blank or the address is different. What should I check?
Adjust the small potentiometer on the back of the I2C module to set contrast. If nothing shows, run an I2C scanner sketch to find the actual address, since some modules use 0x3F instead of 0x27.
