About this product
The L298P is a dual full-bridge motor driver in a 15-lead Multiwatt package, designed to drive DC motors, stepper motors, relays and solenoids. It accepts standard TTL logic levels, has an enable input for each bridge, and includes a separate logic supply input so the control logic can run at a lower voltage.

Frequently asked questions
Can it drive a stepper motor?
Yes. A bipolar stepper motor can be driven by using one bridge for each winding, and the datasheet lists stepper motors among its supported loads.
Does it need a heatsink and a current-sense resistor?
At higher currents the package dissipates significant heat, so a heatsink is recommended. The emitter sense pins allow an external sensing resistor for current monitoring if you need it.
