How do I wire the KBL410?
The two pins marked AC (~) take the AC input from a transformer secondary or another AC source. The pins marked + and - give the rectified DC output. Add a filter capacitor across the + and - outputs to smooth the ripple.
Does it need a heatsink?
At low currents it may run without one, but when operating near its 4 A rating, mount it on a heatsink and check the derating in the manufacturer datasheet. Choose a reverse voltage rating well above the peak of your AC input.
