Frequently asked questions
Can a 3.3 V or 5 V microcontroller pin drive it directly?
Not reliably. This is not a logic-level MOSFET, and its on-resistance is specified at 10 V gate drive. Use a gate driver or a logic-level MOSFET for direct microcontroller control.
Does it need a heatsink?
At high currents, conduction losses (I²R) generate significant heat. Plan heatsinking and PCB copper area according to the datasheet and the load current.
