About this product
HC-020K is a photoelectric speed-measuring module that reads a motor's rotation through a black encoder disc and outputs two signal lines, A and B. It operates from 4.5 V to 5.5 V and is designed for small motors such as the yellow-shell TT motor with a 4 mm D-shaft encoder, for measuring rotational speed in robot and motor projects.

Frequently asked questions
Which motor shaft does this module fit?
The listed encoder has a 4 mm D-type inner diameter and is intended for a 4 mm motor output shaft, such as the TT motor it was matched with (yellow shell, white axis).
How do I calculate speed from the output?
Connect output A to a digital interrupt pin and count the pulses over a fixed time window. Convert the count to RPM using the number of slots on your encoder disc and the window length.
