About this product
A non-contact infrared temperature sensor module built around the Melexis MLX90614ESF-BCC. It measures the surface temperature of an object from a distance without touching it, and reports both object and ambient temperature over I2C. It is commonly used in non-contact temperature monitoring projects with Arduino and ESP32 boards.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire the GY-906 to an Arduino or ESP32?
Connect VCC and GND to the power pins, and connect SDA and SCL to the board's I2C pins. Use the supply voltage the module supports and confirm the logic level matches the board, especially for 3.3 V boards such as ESP32.
Why does the reading differ from the actual surface temperature?
The sensor measures infrared radiation from the target within its field of view. Distance, target size, surface emissivity and reflective surfaces all affect the reading, so keep the sensor at a consistent distance and use a matte target when calibrating.
