About this product
A precision real-time clock (RTC) module built around the DS3231 I2C chip, which has an integrated temperature-compensated crystal oscillator, and an AT24C32 32K EEPROM for storing data. A battery holder keeps the time running when the main supply is off. It also provides two time-of-day alarms and a 32.768 kHz output, suiting data logging and timestamping projects with Arduino, ESP32 or other microcontrollers.

Frequently asked questions
Does the module need an external crystal?
No. The DS3231 has an integrated crystal and temperature-compensated oscillator, so no external crystal is required.
What I2C addresses will I see on the bus?
The DS3231 uses the fixed address 0x68. On these modules the AT24C32 EEPROM typically appears at 0x57, so both devices can share the same I2C bus.
