About this product

The DS1307 is a low-power real-time clock IC that keeps track of seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, year and day of week in BCD format. It communicates over I2C and has 56 bytes of battery-backed RAM, and it switches automatically to a backup battery when main power is lost. It is widely used to add timekeeping to Arduino and other microcontroller projects.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of DS1307 Real-Time Clock (RTC) IC with I2C Interface in Egypt?

DS1307 Real-Time Clock (RTC) IC with I2C Interface currently costs between 18 and 20 EGP across 4 offers in Egypt.

Where can I buy DS1307 Real-Time Clock (RTC) IC with I2C Interface in Egypt?

DS1307 Real-Time Clock (RTC) IC with I2C Interface is available from Makers Electronics, Future Electronics, UGE, and RAM Electronics. Compare the offers above to find the best price.

What external parts does the DS1307 need to keep time?

It needs a 32.768 kHz crystal connected across X1 and X2. A backup battery on V-BAT keeps the time running when VCC is removed. SDA and SCL also need pull-up resistors to VCC, commonly 4.7 kΩ, which many breakout boards already include.

Can the DS1307 be powered from a 3.3 V board?

The datasheet specifies a 4.5 V to 5.5 V supply, so a 3.3 V board needs a suitable regulator or a level-compatible RTC. The DS3231 is a common alternative that works at 3.3 V.
