About this product
ATMEGA168PA-PU is an 8-bit AVR RISC microcontroller with 16 KB ISP flash, 1 KB SRAM and 512 bytes of EEPROM, supplied without the Arduino bootloader. It provides 23 general-purpose I/O lines, three timers, USART, SPI, a two-wire serial interface and a 6-channel 10-bit ADC. It is commonly used as a standalone chip in embedded projects, or programmed with the Arduino bootloader for Arduino-style use.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use it with the Arduino IDE?
Yes, after it is programmed with the Arduino bootloader (Optiboot) using an ISP programmer such as USBasp, or an Arduino board set up as Arduino as ISP. Once the bootloader is in place, it can be programmed over a serial connection.
How does it differ from the ATmega328P?
The ATmega168PA has half the flash memory of the ATmega328P (16 KB against 32 KB) and half the SRAM (1 KB against 2 KB). Code written for the 328P may need to be reduced in size to fit on the 168PA.
