Frequently asked questions
How do I limit the current through the LED?
Use a series resistor calculated as R = (Vs - 2.0) / I. For example, with a 5 V supply and a target of 17 mA, the resistance is about 176 ohms, so a 180 ohm resistor gives roughly 16.7 mA.
Which leg is positive?
The longer lead is the anode (+) and the shorter lead is the cathode (-). The LED only lights when connected in the forward direction.
