About this product

The ZMCT103C is a miniature single-phase AC current transformer with a 1000:1 turns ratio, giving 5mA on the secondary for a 5A primary current. It is used to monitor AC current in energy monitoring, overcurrent detection and power quality projects. It requires a burden resistor and a suitable measurement circuit, since it measures AC current only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of ZMCT103C 1000:1 Miniature AC Current Transformer 5A in Egypt?

ZMCT103C 1000:1 Miniature AC Current Transformer 5A currently costs between 75 and 85 EGP across 2 offers in Egypt.

Where can I buy ZMCT103C 1000:1 Miniature AC Current Transformer 5A in Egypt?

How do I read this sensor with an Arduino or ESP32?

Place a burden resistor across the secondary winding and measure the voltage across it with an ADC input. Because AC swings above and below zero, bias the signal to half the ADC reference voltage, sample it quickly and calculate the RMS value in code. Choose the resistor value based on your maximum current and the ADC input range.

Is it safe to leave the secondary open?

No. A current transformer must never have its secondary open-circuited while current flows in the primary, because high voltages can develop. Always keep the secondary connected to a burden resistor or a closed load.
