A handheld digital meter for pH, ORP (oxidation-reduction potential) and temperature, with automatic temperature compensation and a data-hold function. How do I connect it to a computer or microcontroller?
Use the RS-232 output. Modern laptops lack RS-232, so a USB-to-RS-232 adapter is needed. For a 3.3V or 5V microcontroller, use a level shifter, because RS-232 voltage levels differ from TTL logic levels.
