Frequently asked questions
How do I set the output voltage?
Use a resistor divider on the feedback pin. The IC's internal reference is 1.25V, so the output rises as the feedback ratio increases. Keep the output within the 1.25V to 32V range and confirm the divider values in the datasheet.
Does it need a heatsink at full current?
At 5A the converter still dissipates some heat even at high efficiency, so a heatsink or a generous copper area is recommended. Keep the input above the output by at least the 0.3V minimum dropout, and check the datasheet for thermal data and input capacitor requirements.
