About this product
An IoT plant monitor in which the ESP32 creates its own Wi-Fi network called Ekostra-Plant, so no router or internet is needed. Connect a phone to that network, open 192.168.4.1, and view soil moisture, temperature and humidity readings that refresh every 5 seconds. The kit teaches access point setup, a small web server on the ESP32 and the difference between 5 V and 3.3 V sensors.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a router or an internet connection?
No. The ESP32 acts as an access point, so you connect your phone directly to the Ekostra-Plant network and open 192.168.4.1 in a browser.
Can I connect a 5 V sensor directly to the ESP32?
Be careful. ESP32 GPIO pins operate at 3.3 V and are not 5 V tolerant, so check each sensor's supply voltage and signal level before connecting it. The kit teaches this difference.
