Frequently asked questions
How do I wire an ESP-01 to the programmer?
Connect the programmer's TX to the module's RX and RX to TX, connect GND to GND, and power the module at 3.3 V. Pull GPIO0 to GND to enter flash mode. Confirm the labelled pins on your programmer before connecting.
Can I power an ESP-01 from 5 V?
Use 3.3 V. ESP modules are not 5 V tolerant on their pins, and an unregulated 5 V supply can damage the module. Also provide enough current for Wi-Fi transmission bursts.
