The UC3844B is a high-performance current-mode PWM controller IC in an SOP-8 package, used to regulate switch-mode power supplies. Is the UC3844B a complete power supply on its own?
No. It is a control IC. A working supply also needs a power MOSFET, a transformer or inductor, rectifier and output components, and a feedback network.
Can I use the UC3844B for motor speed control?
It is designed for switch-mode power conversion. Motor speed control is normally handled by a dedicated motor driver, although the PWM principle is similar.
