About this product
A heavy-duty step-down transformer that converts 220 VAC mains to a 12-0-12 V AC output rated at 10 A, using a three-wire center tap. It is intended for rectifier circuits and low-voltage power projects. The primary side works at mains voltage, so install it in a suitable enclosure with fusing and proper insulation.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire the center tap?
The center tap is the common (0 V) wire. Each outer wire gives 12 V AC relative to the center tap, and the two outer wires together give 24 V AC across them.
Can I get DC from it?
Yes, using a center-tapped full-wave rectifier (two diodes) or a bridge rectifier, followed by a filter capacitor. The DC output is higher than the AC RMS value because of the peak voltage, so choose diodes and capacitors rated above that peak.
