Frequently asked questions
Can I connect it directly to mains power?
It is designed for off-line operation, but it needs a complete flyback design with transformer, feedback, rectification and protection as shown in the datasheet. Mains voltage is lethal, so only experienced designers should build this, and an isolation transformer is advised during testing.
How does it differ from the TNY264P and TNY266P?
They belong to the same family and package, with different power ratings: 9 W for TNY264P, 15 W for TNY266P and 19 W for TNY267P. Choose the one that matches your required output power.
