Frequently asked questions
Can I connect it directly to mains power?
It is designed for off-line operation, but it needs a complete flyback design with transformer, feedback, rectification and protection as described in the datasheet. Mains voltage is dangerous, so build and test it only with proper isolation and experience.
What is it best suited for?
It suits low-power isolated supplies up to about 9 W, such as small adapters and auxiliary rails. For higher output power, the TNY266P or TNY267P in the same family may be a better fit.
