The TM1390 is an electromagnetic radiation meter (Gauss meter) for measuring extremely low frequency (ELF) magnetic fields from 30 Hz to 300 Hz, such as those produced by power lines and household appliances. It has a uniaxial sensor head, a peak-lock function and reads in milligauss and microtesla.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the reading change when I rotate the meter?
The sensor is uniaxial, so it measures the field along one axis only. Orient the probe in different directions to find the maximum field strength at a point.
Can this meter measure radio-frequency or microwave fields?
No. It is designed for extremely low frequency fields from 30 Hz to 300 Hz, such as power-line and appliance frequencies. It is not intended for radio-frequency or microwave measurements.
