About this product
The TIP32 is a PNP power driving transistor in a TO-220 package, rated for higher current than the TIP30. It is the complement of the TIP31 NPN device and is used in push-pull amplifier outputs, linear regulators and switching circuits. Use a heatsink for sustained operation at higher power.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between TIP30 and TIP32?
Both are PNP TO-220 transistors with 40 V collector-emitter rating in common variants, but the TIP32 is rated for a higher collector current (3 A versus 1 A) and power dissipation. Choose TIP32 for loads needing more current.
Do I need a heatsink for the TIP32?
For light loads a heatsink may not be needed, but for sustained current or power near the rating, mount it on a heatsink. Insulate the tab with a mica or silicone pad if the heatsink is connected to ground or the chassis.
