About this product
Thermal compound, also called thermal grease, is a paste applied between a processor or power device and its heat sink. It fills microscopic air gaps between the surfaces and improves heat transfer. It is used when mounting CPUs, GPUs, power transistors and voltage regulators on heat sinks.

Frequently asked questions
How much thermal compound should I apply?
Use a thin layer, typically a small pea-sized amount for a CPU, and spread or press it evenly. Too much compound adds thermal resistance and can spill onto nearby parts.
Is thermal grease electrically conductive?
Many silicone-based thermal greases are non-conductive, but metal-based types conduct electricity. Check the product label before using it near exposed pins or PCB traces.
