About this product
SS41F is a digital bipolar Hall-effect sensor that switches its open-collector output when it detects alternating north and south magnetic poles. It has an internal regulator for a 4.5 to 24 V DC supply and internal protection against reversed supply polarity. It is suited to speed, position and proximity sensing using a permanent magnet or electromagnet.

Frequently asked questions
How do I wire the output?
The output is open-collector and sinks current, so it needs a pull-up resistor from the output to the logic supply. Choose the value according to the datasheet and the input requirements of your microcontroller.
What kind of magnet works with it?
It responds to alternating north and south magnetic poles, so it works with a permanent magnet or electromagnet that presents both poles as it moves past the sensor.
