About this product
This SOP8 / SOIC8 crocodile clip is mounted on a small PCB adapter to connect an 8-pin surface-mount chip to a programmer without soldering. It is commonly used with BIOS, 24, 25 and 93 series EEPROM and SPI flash chips. Clip it onto the chip to read or write its contents in place.

Can I use it on a chip that is still soldered to a board?
Yes. Power down the board, match pin 1 of the clip to pin 1 of the chip, and disconnect other devices on the same bus, as they can interfere with reading and writing.
