About this product
The SN74LS139 contains two independent 2-line to 4-line decoders/demultiplexers in one 74LS-series TTL package, with active-low outputs and active-low enables. Its enable input can also serve as a data line for demultiplexing, which makes it useful for chip selection and address decoding.

Frequently asked questions
Can the enable input be used as a data input?
Yes. In demultiplexing mode, the enable input carries the data while the select lines choose the output. The chosen output then follows the data signal.
Can the outputs drive chip-select lines directly?
Yes. Only the selected output goes low, which matches the active-low chip-select inputs common in memory and peripheral devices.
